ShipContent (we, us) turns your repository's shipping activity into marketing content. This page explains what we collect, why, and how you can control it.

What we collect

  • Account info: the email you sign in with.
  • GitHub repository data: once you install the ShipContent GitHub App on a repository, we read merged pull request diffs, commit messages, and release notes from that repository to generate content. We don't read repositories you haven't explicitly connected.
  • Generated content: the drafts, edits, and publishing history ShipContent creates for your connected projects.
  • Project memory: a short summary of your product, audience, and voice that ShipContent builds up over time to keep generated content consistent (see Project Brain in the product).
  • Billing information: if you subscribe to Pro, your plan, subscription status, and renewal date. Payment is processed directly by Stripe, we never see or store your card details.
  • Waitlist email: if you join the waitlist during a closed beta, just the email address you provide.

How we use it

Repository activity and project memory are sent to our AI providers (OpenAI and Anthropic) to generate and classify content on your behalf. We don't use your repository data or generated content to train AI models, and we don't sell your data to anyone.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of subprocessors to run the service, each handling only what they need to do their job:

  • Supabase provides database, authentication, and file storage.
  • OpenAI and Anthropic process repository activity and project context to generate and classify content.
  • GitHub is the source of the repository data you explicitly connect.
  • Stripe processes payments and manages Pro subscriptions if you upgrade.
  • Vercel hosts the application.

Cookies

We use one cookie to keep you signed in. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

We keep your projects and generated content until you delete them or close your account. Deleting a project removes its content and connection to GitHub. You can delete your account entirely yourself, any time, from Account settings, this also cancels an active Pro subscription immediately. Stripe separately keeps its own billing and invoice records for as long as it's legally required to, even after your account is gone, that's Stripe's retention, not ours.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data or ask us to delete it at any time by contacting us. We'll respond within a reasonable time.

Changes to this policy

ShipContent is in active development. If we make a material change to how we handle your data, we'll update this page and the date above.
